Is lymphatic enhancement therapy the same as manual lymphatic drainage massage?

It’s better! Lymphatic enhancement therapy takes manual lymphatic drainage massage to a whole new level – with industry-leading technology. Lymph Life practitioners use LymphStar Pro™ tools to provide vibrational therapy to break down bacteria, viruses, and proteins that are causing congestion in lymph nodes and capillaries. Thick, stagnant fluid becomes more watery and moves through the system faster, allowing your body to more effectively rid itself of toxins. Learn more about our technology here.

How can I prepare for a treatment?

You can prepare for your lymphatic drainage treatment by drinking plenty of water. Eat a light meal and drink plenty of water before you come. Plan to drink lots more water for the next 24-48 hours after your treatment to maximize results. Also, make sure your skin is free from moisturizers, oils, and lotions the day of your treatment.

What should I wear to my treatment?

You’ll remove your clothing and be draped in a blanket, much like any other massage. Wear loose fitting clothes that are easy to remove and don’t restrict movement. Ladies, please, no underwire bras the day of your treatment.

What will the treatment feel like?

Lymphatic enhancement therapy is like a relaxing massage. Our LymphStar Pro™ tools will slide across your skin in rhythmic movements. These movements calm your nervous system and promote healing. You may experience sensations as the lymph fluid begins to move, such as tingling, a coolness in your fingers and toes, and even digestive noises.

How will I feel after treatment? What can I expect?

We’re all unique individuals, and every individual experiences different results. Some more common experiences, as reported by our clients, include:

  • A clear, sharp mind and more energy
  • Spontaneous joint adjustment, due to reduced fluid in joints allowing for more movement
  • Deeper, more restful sleep (you may even want a nap mid-day!)
  • Sinus and ear drainage
  • Reduction in swelling
  • Fewer headaches, less chronic pain
  • An increase in urination and bowl movements that are possibly more odorous
  • Temporary muscle aches, pains, and even nausea as your body detoxifies
  • Increase in circulation that balances your immune system
  • Some fatigue, if you were underhydrated or have many toxins to purge (drink more water and rest!

You should not feel any pain or serious discomfort. If you do experience pain, please do not ignore it. If pain is severe, seek medical attention.

How many treatments are recommended, and how often?

For maximum benefit, the average person should aim to have treatments twice a week for four weeks, twice a year. This will “jump start” your system and get lymph flowing again. If you’re looking to treat a specific issue, we’ll evaluate you and make recommendations to achieve the best result.

Any number of treatments is better than having none – even one treatment will make a difference.

How soon will I see results from my treatment?

Your results will be specific to you. That said, many clients experience immediate results, reporting a boost in energy right after their session and then another spike of energy the next day. With regular sessions, clients experience increased energy levels, mental clarity, and an overall sense of wellbeing.

Do you accept insurance for lymphatic treatments?

We cannot directly bill your insurance company, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that your insurance won’t cover your lymphatic treatment. Some insurance companies cover lymphatic drainage massage if it is prescribed, and we can provide you with the documentation necessary to work with your insurance company for reimbursement. We encourage you to check with your insurance company to see if your treatments will be covered.

Many healthcare savings accounts (HSAs) will cover lymphatic treatments and we accept HSA credit cards.
